Spring Valley Revoked License Attorney

Being pulled over while driving on a suspended driver's license is a serious matter. Sometimes people are unaware that their licenses have been suspended. This can happen if they were charged with a minor infraction, such as forgetting to update information with the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).

In New York, traffic law and license suspension are complex. You need the assistance of an experienced lawyer to defend you against serious traffic charges. The Law Office of Reuven J. Epstein handles traffic, driving while intoxicated (DWI) and driver's license suspension cases. For a free consultation, please call 845-694-4522 or contact me online.

Driving on a Suspended License

If you are ticketed for any traffic violation and do not answer the ticket within the allotted time, you will be sent a suspension notice giving you 30 days to correct the problem. If you do not respond to this notice, your license will be suspended.

Your license can also be suspended for the following reasons:

  • DWI conviction
  • Refusing a Breathalyzer test
  • Accumulating 11 or more points in 18 months
  • Expired license
  • Insurance lapse
  • Not updating information with the DMV

If you are pulled over for any reason while driving on a suspended license, you will be charged with aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree (AUO 3rd). Conviction for AUO 3rd results in a fine up to $500, a surcharge and probation or jail time up to 30 days.

I will try to clear the underlying charge that caused your license to be suspended. If this is possible, I may be able to get the AUO 3rd charge reduced or dismissed.

If you have a commercial driver's license (CDL) and you receive a ticket or AUO 3rd charge, you may lose your livelihood. I can help you contest the charge.

Please call my Rockland County office at 845-694-4522 to schedule an appointment.
